Getting old(er)
As I approach the one third of a century mark, here are a few things I’ve learned over the years…
#1 Never take life too seriously.
#2 The Pharmaceutical industry is there to treat symptoms, not provide cures. One-shot cures are less profitable then repeat business.
#3 Communism is a wonderful philosophy that can’t survive contact with the greed of human nature.
#4 No matter how beautiful and wonderful a woman is she will always think she has a terrible flaw.
#5 Democracy is a wonderful philosophy that can’t survive contact with the greed of human nature.
#6 Fanatical belief in any system, be it political, religious, or social, undermines much of the good that can be found in that system.
#7 Never bring a knife to a gun fight, or a creationist to an intelligent debate.
#8 The longer the food keeps the less likely it is to be healthy.
#9 The better the food tastes the less likely it is to be healthy.
#10 Anything begins with “the war on..” is probably a bad idea. War on Drugs, War on Terror, and so forth.
#11 Ninja are far cooler then pirates.
