 I read my Fiancées blog.

The horror of the internet has been driven home to me once again.

This is the internet god damn it! This is not a place of unfounded gossip, personal attacks, and sheer stupidity.

Next I sue for slander!

Evil Twins, I get it!

Okay I get it. You have twins, one of them almost certainly has to be evil.

So where do we go with triplets? How do we determine which is the evil triplet? Does one of them get voted off the placenta?

With that disturbing (hopefully) image I’ll leave you with some images I’ve sumbled across that indicate that both Angelina Jolie and Catherine Zeta-Jones have evil twins.

Actually I’ve always loved Catherine’s twins… never underestimate the power of a dark clown!

World in a SnowGlobe

Well it has been a good week for the world, the McCain hate wagon has slowed to such a crawl that it looks like its trying to travel backwards in time (Freedom at The Zoo does a good review of it all here).

The economy is looking up with Asia leading the recovery, Britain and Australia have both followed the trend with the UK propping up three major Banks, and the Rudd government guaranteeing all deposits for the next three years. We’re not sure where America is up to in halting its economic slide, but the world seems to be backing away from the stricken economic giant.

Too many bad debts, a culture of greed, and a unquenchable urge to both consume and dominate may have finally backfired. At the end of the financial crunch we might well find the rest of the world looking around for a new leader. Certainly America’s power won’t fade overnight, but I doubt she’ll be considered the predominate power by anyone but the Americans themselves after this.

The only real questions seem to be how fast will the behemoth fall and will china be the power that rises to take its place, or will we finally see the end of National domination and the emergence of true corporate powers?

The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Of course it might be too early to celebrate, maybe the depression “we had to have“* might be here after all, and there is always the terror of an McCain led America striking out in its death throws.

Lets go out on a limb here and assume that Uncle Sam is being sent to the retirement home…. where do we go from here?   When the other big superpower fell it left not a vacuum, but a yard-sale of military equipment that flooded the world with nuclear capability. As the monopoly fell eastern Europe opened up to free markets and left behind the shackles of imperialism. Will America go the same way?

Will Mexico take back the land stolen from it? Will the United States become the Allied Americas? Will the Indian Nations buy back their and for a handful of pimped up rides and some bling? Most importantly will Utah cede and start Mormon Land? Lastly with the military power base of the militant Christian nation dissolving, will there finally be a possibility of peaceful resolution between the Muslim and Christian influenced nations.

Oh…. oh…. oh…. will the world be finally able to democratically elect leaders with an anti-American stance without being overthrown in a CIA backed ‘peoples coup’ (Honduras, Chile, Iran, Iraq,  Brazil, Fiji) that ousts the democratic system and replaces it with a pro-American despot?

*PS. Only Aussies will recall the “Recession we had to have”…… damn smug bastard

CSI “Not by a long shot”

A super-weapon is loose on the streets of Miami, and our overacting red-haired protagonist has uttered the line “Not by a long shot” three times now. Dear gods, who wrote this script?

Lets take all the ‘trendy’ concepts in TV and string them together with some terrible dialog. Assassination by air bubble – check, Misuse of the patriot act – check, Vigilanti justice – check, government agencies bungling oversight on important issues – check, the unreliability of mercenaries check, check, checkedy check. This is just in the first 10 minutes.

The characters are bad enough, a forensic pathologist who talks like Captain James T Kirk, the lead detective that tries to be James Dean. These guys deliver their lines like their on the set of a porn. “Lets check”… “I’m here to clean the pool”…. BAH!

Betrayal

It is the most horrible feeling in the world when the one you truly love does something so terrible that you can’t even speak about it.

In any relationship there are certain unspoken rules and boundaries, there are expectations and duties that make up the foundation of a trusting relationship. When those are breeched the whole edifice begins to crumble.

It’s like someone takes a knife fresh from the freezer, and plunges it repeatedly into your back. There is no feeling like it, the terrible betrayal, the feeling of abandonment. It almost destroys you, you can’t face the world, you can’t see how you can go on knowing that the spark has gone.

I do hope you never face a disappointment so deep that it threatens to scar you for life. I can only hope you never experience the same devastation, the same terrible realization that your one true love is simply can not be turned on by you anymore.

I hope you never have to rely on a DELL power supply in your computer.

Introspection

I’ve just looked back through my recent posts, those dated since I’ve jumped continents, and have realized that I’ve been blathering. The more recent posts are all space-fillers, padding to keep the blog active while my life drops back into first gear. Certainly I can’t just make stuff up to make my life appear interesting….. Actually, what the hell am I talking about, of course I can make stuff up. I’m trying to be a writer damn it, that’s what writers do!

Speaking of writing, my significant other has been scanning through various books on how to write (she’s got a novel underway and we’re working on a screenplay together) and she came across a nice little quote. I’d repeat it verbatim, but she’s at her folks place at the moment and I’ve no idea where she found it, so I’ll have to paraphrase.

Writing isn’t hard, writers just want you to think it is to keep some of the mystery/status that goes with the title.

Couldn’t agree more, you don’t have to be a tortured soul to write meaningful prose, nor do you have to be depressed to peek into the dark side of the soul. That’s called Emo, and we all should have grown out of it by the time we leave our teens behind.

Writing is about self-discipline (not my strong suite) and grinding out the banal structure that is necessary to frame those nuggets of true inspiration. Granted I’ve had my melancholic days, days where I want to wallow in my own misery, but sadly they always seem to coincide with a friend or loved one desperately trying to jolt me out of my funk. No one seems to understand that we need the emotional lows as much as we need the highs. So when you try to explain that you’re actually really enjoying seeing the world through navy colored glasses and you’ll be fine again tomorrow they just don’t get it.

Sadly I write my best poetry when I’m down. Luckily this aberration also provides me with the basics for a small fire the next day as I destroy all the evidence that I ever attempted to write poetry.

…… I now have to revise my earlier statement that writing isn’t hard. After taking a break to be (briefly) social, I have now completely forgotten the bulk the things I was going to write about. This isn’t something I come back to, polish, edit etc. The strategy here his write, spell-check, post. No editing allowed. Guess I’m going to have to find another way to give this posting some punch…

So in an effort to put a little more content into this post, here’s a pair of girls with plenty of substance. First the ever popular Tera Patrick, star of the blue silver screen. Second Rio Natsume, a girl with an incredible …um…. presence…..?

Resistance is fertile

I’ve been back in the land of the unemployed for almost two months now, and it hasn’t been quite as productive as I’d have hoped. I’ve almost hammered out three short stories, a linked arc that might be worth reading, but the novels are going nowhere fast.

I recently got inspired by George RR Martin, or at least his lack of output acted as a bomb under my arse to get something, anything, out. I might submit the stories to an on-line site or try and get them in a proper publication, but I’m going to post a few of the smaller ones on wordpress too.

On an unrelated note here is Yuuri Morishita
